Green Building vision
It is the synergy of art, science and technique along with the balance of disciplines, skills and strengths that guides design towards sustainability. Building truely green comes from a holistic vision which approaches the building as a whole rather than a sum of parts. Integrated design brings people together with different capabilities and mindsets to think, create and review concepts in the aim of building greener. The innovation resulting from these think tanks is greater than architectural creativity and engineering ingenuity combined, as design is reinvented and redefined beyond green building alone.
Bringing added value to your project
So you've decided to conceive, design, build and deliver a Green Building.
You have questions such as:
-
What does Green Building truly mean?
-
What added value will it provide to my project?
-
How does it implicate my design process?
-
Can it be applied to my project?
-
How is it achieved?
-
Who and what do I need to make it happen?
-
How can I be sure that what will be designed will answer to Green Building requirements, standards?
-
How will my project compare with other Green Buildings in this country, internationally?

We can provide you with these answers and assist you in making the most of your project. We know Green Building Design: what it is, what it requires and how to design it accordingly. We will work with you to develop a road map for your Green Building project which covers all design stages, from early conception to building delivery.

Below are some examples of strategies we focus on to help you deliver high performance buildings.

What Is It?
Green Building Consultancy offers possibilities beyond standardized environmental certification, creating not only a livable but state of the art indoor environment.

We advise teams to start thinking sustainable design early in the process as bioclimatic architecture relies on the climate and site context to conceive passive techniques. Starting early on offers a possibility for strategic thinking to tackle significant efficient environmental, social and economical solutions.
We believe architecture is the place to start as a well oriented, shaped, accurately glazed and fabriqued building will shift your project from a standard building to a smart, energy efficient, comfortable, green building.
How We Do It?
High performance buildings provide cooling, ventilation and lighting at high comfort levels while minimizing energy requirements.
This level of performance is achieved by conceiving, analyzing and incorporating effective passive design strategies before supplementing your building with additional efficient active systems.

We provide green building design guidance to your team to optimize the whole environmental performance of your project.

Design Optimization for High Performance Buildings
Opportunity
With program, site and climate as a context, we can help you define which passive design strategies are suitable solutions for your project's location, climate and usage type.

We study design alternatives, suggest energy and comfort driven improvements, advise design teams in climate responsive design, to achieve high performance building levels.
To do so, we study the world’s best practices and develop computer models to analyze your design’s performance in taking advantage of the local climate and architectural features to supply buildings in ventilation, cooling, lighting and water supply.

-
Predict building’s performance and measure it to intended goals and green building standards.
Reducing Operational Costs through Energy Savings
Opportunity
Buildings consume about 40% of the world’s global energy which inflates yearly at 4%. Therefore, energy consumption is a key factor to take into account when designing a building. Energy is required to provide indoor environments with heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and water. Integrating passive design strategies and supplementing your building with energy efficient mechanical systems reduces the overall energy consumption and costs of your building operation.
Approach
Energy analysis started early and studied throughout the project will help you design your building to make the most of your location and climate. Using energy as a metric allows for design comparison and optimization such as for example, selecting glazing, luminaire and HVAC types.

-
Energy Modeling studies
-
Preliminary Energy Analysis
-
Parametric Energy Analysis
-
Whole Building Energy Analysis
-

Expected Results / Benefits
-
Assess your project’s opportunities
-
Compare and validate design options
-
Predict and quantify overall performance over a benchmark to reach high green building standards
Improving Occupants' Well-Being with Comfort Centered Design
Opportunity
Because we spend 90% of our time indoors, human comfort must be taken into account when designing a building. Comfort will define occupants’ behavior within the building such as turning on or off air conditioning and lighting which causes energy consumption. Additionally, comfortable indoor environments are known to increase occupants' productivity, health and overall well-being.
Approach
Comfort is quantified and qualified upon several variable factors such as temperature, humidity and air velocity. We use normative references such as ASHRAE and IES to measure comfort and maximize the quality of your project’s indoor environment.
-
Thermal Comfort studies
-
Visual Comfort studies
-
Indoor Environmental Quality studies

Expected Results / Benefits
-
Healthy indoor environments
-
Higher occupancy rates
-
Better employee engagement and retention
-
Reduced stress, absenteism and sick leave
-
Better test scores, concentration and productivity

Project Management & Coordination
Opportunity
Green Building design is multi disciplinary by essence as it relies on the understanding of complex and subtle building systems' interactions.
A project achieves high performance goals when all designers, architects, facade and lighting specialists, mechanical and electrical engineers, work together with an integrated design mindset.
Approach
Successful green building projects are carefully managed by people who understand the whole building approach. With both experience in architecture and engineering, we are able to assist all your designers in using their specialist knowledge and skills to find innovative and sustainable solutions for the whole design.
We believe the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. We guide designers to approach green building projects differently than standard projects, in shifting their perception from using their design specialty as a service in fine, to serving green building with their specialty.

Expected Results / Benefits
-
Higher likelihood of being on schedule and within budget
-
Increased opportunity to deliver a holistic and quality project through efficient teamwork and collaboration
-
Early anticipation of potential risks and challenges
-
Increased predictability of project outcomes
-
Higher efficiency in problem solving
-
Improved communication and management of client expectations
-
Improved working environment and better overall project results
